Sunset Country sells itself as "Canada's Premier Fishing Destination" and they can back it up! With 70,000 freshwater lakes and rivers, the region can definitely lay claim to some of the best fishing in Ontario. Remote outpost cabins, five star fishing lodges and fly-in resorts - they are all here. You also have a wide variety of campgrounds to choose from or for something completely different, try an Ontario houseboat rental. The fishing is fantastic!

Fishing in North of Superior

Stretching from the big water on Lake Superior north to wilderness lakes and rivers, the North of Superior region has great fishing adventures. Catch huge lake trout on Superior or trophy brook trout on the Albany River system. Wabakimi Wilderness Park has 12,000 lakes in it, many teeming with walleye and northern pike. There are many fly-in outposts and remote fishing lodges located in the park's boundaries offering a true world-class fishing experience. Famous fishing destinations such as Armstrong and Nakina are located in this travel region.

Fishing in Algoma Country

Algoma Country's fishing options are endless! Deep troll for the elusive lake trout, go fly-fishing for brook trout in cold streams, find big bass near rocky shelves, tasty walleye on channels and shoals or go after mighty musky or great northern pike. The best thing is you can find all these fish species in our wilderness back-country. Fly-in to beautiful resorts and lodges, remote outpost lakes or drive-to a lakeside cabin or campground.

By it's sheer size alone, Ontario's Wilderness Region is bound to have many great places to fish. What swims in these far northern reaches of the Province of Ontario are the ones you'll be talking about for years to come. Fishing in Rainbow Country, Ontario

With endless opportunities presented by Georgian Bay and some of the best river fishing along the banks of the French River, Rainbow Country in Northeastern Ontario is a great destination for a fishing vacation. If you like to fish for muskie, both the French River and Georgian Bay are prime spots - the Ontario record muskie was caught in Georgian Bay so that is a real good sign if it is trophy-sized fish you are after. You can also enjoy great walleye, pike and bass fishing along with huge lake trout in the big bay.

Fishing Trips to Ontario's Near North

The waters of the Near North travel region in Ontario have beckoned anglers from across Canada and the United States for decades. The star attraction in the region is massive Lake Nipissing with its abundant populations of walleye, bass, pike and muskie.
